Abstract

It was studied the estrogenic activity of Trifolium pratense varieties "Select" and "Napoca Tetra" improved at the Agronomic Institute "Dr. Petru Groza". The test used was the mice test (aquaeous, respectively oily extract of 0.1 ml injected intraperitoneally). The effect of variety and of period of defoliation was also taken in consideration. With this applied methodology, the samples of the variety "Select" where very estrogenic in the three periods. "Napoca Tetra" was estrogenic in May, and very estrogenic in July and September. The oily extract was more efficient than the aqueous extract.
